Below is a list of details for each option found in our VPN client app's tabs.
Connect
Location
(menu): list of server locations, updated automaticallyCurrent Location
and IP Address
: it shows the IP information using our own geo-location serviceIP Leak Check
: run the browser test for IP geo-location, DNS servers, WebRTC and moreConnection log
: it shows the application’s log. The log is essential for troubleshooting connections/functionality problems
Preferences
VPN username and Password
: the VPN account’s user/pass needed to connect to the service. It is not your Client Area loginMinimize on close
: minimizez the app’s window when closed using the ‘X’ buttonStart minimize
: application starts minimized to tray/notification areaLight theme

: adds a Task Scheduler task to start the app automatically after system log-onAuto-connect when choosing new location
: connects to a new location when selected in the locations list
Advanced
Protocol
: select the connection protocol to use. Default and recommended is OpenVPN ECCPort
: select port to use for OpenVPN connections, either UDP or TCP. In most cases, using the default is fineKill Switch
: blocks direct (non-VPN) Internet connectivity using null-routing (Windows) or firewall (MacOS and Linux). Restoring non-VPN connectivity requires to disable the kill switch using the ‘Disable killswitch’ option once disconnected from VPN
I am in China or other censored country: displays a categorty of locations which are more censorship-resistant than the usual onesProtocol/Port selection in Connect tab
: shows the Protocol and Port options in the Connect tab, making it easier to switch between them without accessing the Advanced tabForce reconnect on sleep resume
: forces the VPN to disconnect and connect by simulating a manual intervention when resuming from Sleep; normally not needed, enable only if you face problems reconnecting automatically after system sleepUse wintun driver if installed (experimental)
: forces the use of OpenVPN Wintun driver, the same used by WireGuard. See more details in the KB articleBlock IPv6
: adds a firewall rule for blocking IPv6 traffic to avoid IP leaksDisable DNS on physical NIC on-connect
: removes the DNS server(s) set on the physical network adapters. Normally not needed. Enable it only if you are familiar with restoring DNS settings manually in case of failureDo not change DNS on-connect
: no change will be made to the DNS settings when connected.Lower MTU
: use smaller packets for OpenVPN UDP connections. It may help with speed and stability on some connection types (DSL, mobile broadband)Detailed debug in log
: includes extra debugging info in the log file, useful for internal troubleshooting. In most cases, not neededUse alternative graphics rendering engine
: in very rare cases, the window isn’t displayed correctly due to video driver issues. Enable this option if such problem occursDisable latency test
: don’t ping the servers to show the latency results in locations list. Enable if you don’t need to select locations based on ping results
