VPN.AC Client Software (Windows)

Our proprietary VPN client software supports OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec and PPTP and is compatible with both 32 and 64 bit Windows editions.
If you use the portable app, it doesn't require to be installed on PC, it can run from any folder where you unzip it to.

Warning: Please be aware that PPTP has been considered not secure for a few years already and we don't recommend to use it for anything sensitive. It is a good choice for geo-unblocking, but nothing else if privacy and security are top priorities for you.

Important note: If you use the VPN Drop Protection, it will remove your default network gateway until you will restore it from the software after disconnecting, either using the button appearing below the Connect/Disconnect, or from System Tray's software icon > Restore default route. If you use this feature, you should also know how to restore the gateway manually in case of failure to do so using the software.

1. Download the VPN Client Software: installer (version 4.0.9, skip steps 2 and 3) or zip archive (current versions is 4.0.9 - Binary checksums)
2. Extract it to a folder.
3. Eventually create a shortcut on Desktop or pin it to taskbar.
4. When you run it for the first time, it will detect if your PC has the TUN/TAP driver installed (needed by OpenVPN). It will ask to install it if it is not already present. To install it manually, open the "data\Tap\" subfolder where the driver installation kit is located.
5. Insert the VPN credentials received from us, select the location, protocol and port from the drop-down menus and connect.

In the following Video Tutorial we will show you how to get the software running and how to use it: connect/disconnect, use the VPN Drop Protection, set desktop/task-bar shortcut. Please note that the video tutorial is made for the previous software versions (up to v3.7, with an old design) and an updated video tutorial will be posted in the very near future.
NOTE: the video guide is made using an older software version. An update is due soon
